Josh, after his critically acclaimed (me being the primary critic) performance as 1/3 of the Cheshire Cat in Alice In Wonderland, was forced to tried out for the next round of theatrical heaven at the same venue which provided him with his initial glorious experience. The play of this current season is going to be Snow White. You should have seen the casting director's eyes bugging out when Josh asked her if there were any "big roles" for male characters. I quickly intervened and explained that by "big" Josh meant "tall" as he does not believe he would make a believable dwarf, being off the charts in height for his age and also being in the oldest age category for this play. Whew. Rehearsals started yesterday. The kids found out what roles had been assigned to them yesterday.
In this version of Snow White, (I'm not entirely sure what they did here but I have got to sit down with the script and maybe something to loosen me up a bit) Josh has been cast as Grumpy, (kind of funny since he is a happy by nature kid. I keep saying they are going to make him perform on his knees), Rumpelstiltskin (it must be a combination story?) and a lord (Wah hoo! We love medieval times!). (Holy cow Rumpelstiltskin is in my spell check! Psych!) I can't wait til opening night (afternoon)!
