Not only was today move in day to the new town house it was also closing day on the house in stepford.
First, I'd like to go on the record for admitting that I am harboring all sorts of counter productive for a zen and peaceful existence hostile fantasies towards the stepford house buyers. I am astounded at the behavior and the never ending tiresome demands from these two annoying as all hell entitled feeling too young to have enough money to buy my house junior Gen Xers. They insisted we remove a beautiful (expensive) birdhouse from the backyard. I only left the birdhouse there because there were bird families living in it! It has eight holes and at least 5 were occupied. I'm sorry fauna of stepford! Even the realtor knew better than to bother with me with the house buyers petty demands at the end and she just took care of stuff. Also, because the husband told her not to tell me any more of the bologna. I would have walked to spite them. Also, the realtor wanted her comi$$ion and she knew I was ready to call in my mob connections to bust a few knee caps. Just please internet support system, tell me how real karma is, because I did so much lip zipping and tongue biting over here that I deserve a gift and the house buyers did so much petty whining and foot stamping that they deserve a natural disaster. Cross your fingers that there is such a thing as karma. Also, that their karma activity is not covered by their home owners insurance.
Moving into new town was surreal. I was hoping that the movers would be bringing my dishes into the house early in the day. I had a fantasy about unpacking my kitchen and having that set. Unfortunately the movers had my kitchen stuff lined up for getting off of the truck last. As the movers brought carton after carton into the house I had one overwhelming thought over and over again. The thought was "I hope this is the last carton." I can't believe how much creeeee-ap we have. As I unpack I am going to get rid of any thing I haven't used lately. That mug that says "New Mommy"? Going to Goodwill. Same thing for the New Daddy mug and also the popcorn popper and anything else that is sitting around collecting dust.
It turns out that I had waaay more storage in stepford than I do in new town. I had a bigger kitchen, more closets, built ins and shelves and a couple of bookcases that we left for the new owners. (Not out of the goodness of our hearts, they tantrum negotiated for them) My response will be "Give it to charity!" I'm not buying anything new for a long time.
Absolutely unbelievable that they don't give a hoot about uprooting several bird families, just like that. It's the sort of thing that makes the aggression rise in me like bilge water in a bad boat! So, TONS of kudos to you for all the lip zipping, Click.
And congrats on surviving the actual move - may the new house bring you blessings and many happy memories in years to come.
