I was lying in bed this morning, not wanting to get out of bed at 6:20 on the one day that I could sleep in if I was the kind of person who actually slept in. I was thinking about last night's post with my goals on it and I was thinking about the fruit count for yesterday and I realized that I had actually eaten a whole lot more fruit than I first thought I did. (like 5 servings more than what I owned up to!) It was an all day mindless eating situation. This is pretty common for me, especially on the weekends.
I decided that what I need right now, and maybe even forever, is a more rigid eating plan. What I decided on was a throw back to my days at FAA. Here is my newly revised eating plan (and goal #1) for the Hot 100:
I will eat 5 times a day.
before exercise: protein and single carb
after exercise: protein and fruit
lunch: protein and veggies
dinner: protein, grain or potato, and veggies
snack (either before a late dinner or after an early one) fruit and protein
That's two grain type carbs and two fruits per day. I am giving myself the option of one additional fruit should withdrawal symptoms the need arise.
Goal #1: I found myself obsessively circling the kitchen at least 5 different times today looking for some fruit to unconsciously inhale consume. I have it bad for fructose! In the end, through sheer will power and extraordinarily welcomed new found determination, I totally stuck to plan. (see above) I still have my second beloved fruit serving left to eat. I am looking forward to it like a heroin fiend filling her syringe.
Goal #2: I was going to do the expresso bike this morning, but then bear bait (who just might be re-renamed as "the one who rolls in deer poop") started whining and following me around the house gave me the big puppy dog eyes and I took her for a HIIT run instead. (see photo below) Also, the forecast for the week doesn't look so good for outdoor activity and I figured I better get it in now since I am not likely to run in the rain.
Goal #3: Oh yeah, cleaning out ...... about that cleaning goal. I'm changing it to one hour per day Monday through Friday or 5 hours per week in any old configuration. Cleaning any thing any way is torture for me as it is, I have to face reality and recognize that I am not going to get anything done on the weekend unless the husband packs up the family and leaves me alone in the house.
Since goals #1 and #2 are all about me me me I'm feeing pretty satisfied with my big diet turn around and my re-entry into the world of fanatic exercisers. I'll be happy when the mess is gone too, but I am going to bitch and moan about what needs to be done to get to that place and even I am not looking forward to hearing myself do that.
Oh yeah, I changed my blog's appearance for the first time in like ... 5 years! I did it trying to figure out how to put the Hot 100 badge on the side bar. I'm not technically proficient. Anyone a typepad whiz out there? Help! However, I did miraculously manage to figure out how to change the look of my page. That photo up on top is sunrise in utopia. Don't you wish you were there? Me too.
We bumped into one of Matt's friend's at the diner for lunch today. matt and I had just come from a college fair and so had the friend. I half joked about calling the psychic to ask which college Matt would be happy at and the friend said he read palms. I shot out my palm, and the friend took it in his hand and thoughtfully examined my palm. I was actually frightened! I didn't want to hear anything bad, like I have a short life line or something. He didn't really have much to say. So I came home, secretly googled palm reading, tried to read my hand, and didn't really have much to think. I suppose if there had been incense, deep red velvet drapery and crystal balls involved it might have been a more meaningful reading. I have a very long fate line that branches out on both ends. Anyone?
I love the specificity of your eating plan! I have found that I really work better with tight rules.

Wow, Click, LOVE LOVE LOVE the new layout and especially the Utopia header! Beautiful!
Aww, and you know how I feel about fruit, the more the better, so I can't be of any help there. =) And Typepad befuddles me, so again, I'm useless. I'm probably just going to link to the Hot 100 logo in every Hottie post, since I'm struggling with the same thing in Wordpress.
Good luck with the stricter eating plan, whoohoo!

Great story! You know you can actually get a free palm reading online at http://www.onlinepalmreadings.com. Check it out! Mine was pretty accurate!
