After 2 months of being off the deep end getting back on the wagon was not as easy as just deciding. Instead of going cold turkey I ended up tapering down. Drastically. So, that's good. Food has been much better. Not perfect, but on my way.
I went back to the posh club and the stretcher this morning. It was a good thing I made the appointment. I woke up for the past two days, put on my gym clothes and didn't do a damned thing. Eventually I showered and got into something respectable but felt like a total loser for not being able to break out of that state of inertia I spent the summer languishing in. I took bear bait out this morning for a HIIT run. I thought my heart was going to burst. It must have been a good run because bear bait's tongue indictor said it was a good run. There was definitely a construction crew that appreciated my effort. These dudes were not discreet about staring. I think I'll run by them more often. Appreciation is nice.
Speaking of new houses, rumors abound about the new across the street neighbors. Latest rumor: mob money. I don't think the teenage looking lady of the house likes me too much. She was standing by her mailbox as I pulled out yesterday and she gave an over the shoulder glance in my direction and headed towards her fugly new house. Okaaaaay. Hint taken.
Back to the posh club, 15 minutes in and I was thinking YES! I'M BACK! I felt so good. Within an hour I was thinking I AM NOT GOING TO BE ABLE TO WALK DOWN STAIRS TONIGHT and sure enough, I am feeling the pain. I kind of love it though. I wish my abs hurt as much as my legs do. Why is it so easy to overwork your legs?
Appreciation sure is nice, isn't it. The admiring glance from someone is one of the most flattering things there is.
BTW, I chuckle every time I read a story about bear bait. :-)
