I left a long comment on Apathy Lounge's web site.
Here it is for your reading pleasure:
I knew the holidays were going to be a reality when I opened my mailbox the other day to find a 5 inch stack of catalogs I never heard of before. Inevitable. Being the holiday kill joy scrooge that I totally am, I actually took my 7 year old to the toy store today and let him pick out a small fortune in lego that I will now hide and pretend to return every other day between now and hanukah because I know without a doubt that he would have been one of those experiment kids who gobbled up the marshmallows the second the interviewer left the room. Waiting is torture for him. And, by association, me too.
Wait, What was the question?
So tell me internet, am I not the worst mother in the world for letting her kid pick out his own hanukah gifts? And also, 6 weeks in advance, fearing all of the lego his little heart desires might be sold out any moment now? Matt, who is chock full of common sense for a 15 year old, kind of questioned the sanity that move when I roped him into removing the lego and sashing it for me in the garage. What have I done?!?
Ho hum.
Anyway, I mention AP because I think she had an awesome idea. AP said she would send her readers a holiday card! So, I thought, why not rip that idea off! If you are a reader, who maybe has commented before (and I know you are ... you know, safe and hopefully not a cannibal or a one of those people that go door to door with lighthouse magazines or someone along those lines) then send me an email with your address and holiday card in the subject and I will send you a holiday card! (What pressure, now I have to make a good one, gulp)
Don't worry, I always order extra! There won't be a shortage, so don't like, explode the internet trying to email me all at once. Okay?
I comment a lot and I would love to email you about a holiday card. But I don't send out holiday cards so it doesn't seem fair to ASK for one and then not send anything back.

Oh! I would love to exchange holiday cards with you - however, my stupid computer won't let me link to your email. Can you send me a quick reply and I'll exchange info with you! Yeah! This is a fun idea!
